Sunday Funday. Not so much.
First thing out of Js mouth this am (with a huge smile on his face) was "Daddys coming home from work". Ugh. Not today. Not for a long time.
Typical morning for J. A little breakfast. A little too much tv. A little jumping on the furniture...My one goal for the day was to go to church. J happily got dressed (which was a bit surprising since he has been wanting to stay in his PJs lately).
Hadley was not so much on cooperating. She had a bit of a tummy ache today. I almost ran out of bibs before the end of the day because she wouldn't stop spitting up.
Finally, after a morning nap she was ready to get dressed. BTW, Christy, the dress is adorable!!!
I'm pretty sure she's sticking her tongue out at me thinking, "sucker". lol.
So, after it felt like we had been up for an eternity (because we had) we were off to church with my sweet neighbor, Regina. Her husband, Jody, plays the drums in the band there. Jackson was very much looking forward to seeing "the boys" (Jacob and Justin). The only word to sum up trying to drop them off in the children's ministry was cluster. Hadley was screaming because she was tired. Jackson was screaming because he didn't want me to leave. The entrance to the rooms was cramped and crowded. There were people everywhere and it was a big, hot mess. Finally, after what seemed like another eternity I made it to worship. Mind you, it was now just after 11 and I still hadn't heard from Stu. He was supposed to have landed between 8 and 9. The tears were just a flowing during the opening songs. But, it felt good. I needed to be there. Unfortunately, it was short-lived. About 5-10 minutes into service my number flashed on the big screen. As I made my way back, I was greeted with "Are you Hadleys mom? We've tried everything. We just can't seem to calm her down. She's crying like she's in pain. " Yup, broke down right then and there. She calmed down for me but she was obviously tired, as I had told them. Either they didn't listen to my instructions on placing her to sleep in the crib, or it just wasn't meant to be. At least Jackson had warmed up but we had to go home. She was asleep before we even left the parking lot. We will try again next week =\
I decided to go through the McDonalds drive through on the way home. Jackson was happy to drink his apple juice but was fighting the food. He said he wanted a hamburger but then decided he'd rather have my chicken nuggets and diet coke. I passed him back my chicken nuggets and he threw them on the floor, along with his hamburger. Apparently, it was time for a nap. Breathe in and out. Its all I could do.
Somehow I did manage to get them both to sleep for a little while at the same time. I took that opportunity to wash Hadleys clothes and spot clean the carpet (her spit up is doing some major damage). Stu was able to face time me as well. Its so great seeing him, but it just makes me so upset. I hope that gets better. I don't think it helps that he's pretty much not slept in 3 days. I feel like all he thinks is that Im a big hot mess all the time. So not true. I really am ok, for the most part.
J has been "calling daddy" with Stus old iPod. Its so cute. He has a real pretend conversation and he tells him what he's doing. We were able to make some things to send him in the mail tomorrow and finally printed off a map so that hopefully J could understand a little better where Daddy really is, other than on an airplane in Afghanistan.
I think the time change has just screwed everyone up today. Tomorrow will be better.
Prayers for you guys! I have so much respect for you to be able to hold down the fort AND do it with kids! Praying for rest!
