I'm going to start on a positive note. Hadley slept through the night!!!!! 8pm to 630am. Yayyyy!!!!! Jackson slept in our bed and unfortunately Stu did not. I finally had to head to bed around 130 am and when I awoke at 4 and didn't see him in bed I freaked out. He was still doing computer training. He got no sleep. I continued to toss and turn until getting up at 515 and seeing him off. There are no words to describe how we were feeling saying our goodbyes. Especially after we had just had that crazy day and night. Ugh.
Stuart has made it safely to Norfolk, VA. He has about a 12 hour layover there and then will be heading out on military flights. If all goes well he should make it to Afghanistan Sunday afternoon.
Continuing on my positivity, I am thankful for my colorist, Olivia and my stylist, Megan. I still drive back to Louisville to get my hair done because they are both amazing at what they do. They almost feel like family to me. We (more like me - who insisted on change) decided that we would go darker today. It was really nice to be able to relax and get pampered. Of course I was still a hot mess and am so thankful for their listening ears.
Our neighbors, Jody and Regina, invited us over for dinner. Jackson played out back with the boys before and was a muddy mess! Apparently he ate a lot for lunch and wasn't feeling his dinner tonight. H was super fussy and of course I just had to spill my red wine all over their tablecloth. The evening culminated in a massive tantrum by J. So blessed to be their mom, but so sad to deal with this alone. Thanks, awesome neighbors for dealing with me!
My dear friend Mary, who is Js godmother, has offered to arrange a schedule of visitors. She is so sweet to even think of this idea. She has always been there for me and I really miss having her just a few houses down the street. I am going to send her a list of potential visitors, please let me know if I have missed you and you're interested!
I was also able to talk to Tammy, one of my best friends from home, tonight. She always makes me laugh. Just when I think things are bad, she always has something crazy going on. Her stepfather may have cancer, and she is in the process of adoption - please please pray for them.
I am a day late in taking Hadleys 5 month pictures, but here they are.
Jackson keeps saying that Daddy is in "enchilada". Apparently thats what he thinks Afghanistan is. He obviously gets it that daddy is going to be away for awhile because he hasn't even asked for him today. Luckily, our Daddy's Deployed book came in the mail today. We read it at bedtime (which was a little delayed tonight) and J seemed to really like it =)
I just know that tomorrow will be better. I am so thankful for all of the prayers and encouragement.
