Day 49

Here are the kids today. Hadley pulled herself up in the pack n play. Ahhhhh! Enough about us already....

Stuart is in Qatar.  Crazy, I know. Apparently they wanted another CCATT team there for awhile. He thinks he will be there for a few weeks. But, who knows?  He has had a long day getting situated there and hasn't been able to sleep. Seems like we have a pattern of sleepless nights (or days lol).  He sent me this picture of him on the C130 today.  He said there was a metal pole behind him and it was very uncomfortable.
His initial internet connection sucked. I couldn't talk to him it was so bad. It pretty much ruined my afternoon. Luckily, they moved the router and we were able to talk and even face time tonight! Yay! His first mission is scheduled for tomorrow to Germany.

Apparently Qatar received the bid for the 2022 World Cup.  They have to build 9 stadiums all within 30km of each other. Since its so hot there they have to make them air conditioned! One of these days Stuart and I will make it to the World Cup. Him, for soccer. Me, for the travel =)  Anyway, the temperature in Qatar is currently 70s/80s compared to 40s in Bagram. The population is 1.6 million living in a 20km radius around the city of Doha. The official language is Arabic but mainly English is spoken. Thats your history lesson for today, courtesy of Stuart.

His accommodations in Qatar are less ideal than in Bagram, kind of funny.  He has to go outside to get to the bathroom. Thats quite unfortunate because Stuart is like an old man, and often pees in the middle of the night.  He says the food is the same. I think he can drink 3 beers a day in Qatar (I could be wrong about this) which is a total plus compared to the zero alcohol in Bagram.  And he can wear civilian clothes on base. Too bad he doesn't have many of those with him.

Here is a random picture I got today. This is from his last mission to Germany I think?

And this is Stuart doing what he does best - passing out on the couch!

Thats all folks. By the way, Jackson is currently sleeping in his OWN bed! Hallelujah!
