Jackson and Hadley challenge me every single day. I'm not perfect, nowhere near perfect. Sometimes I laugh to myself at work when parents ask me for advice. I tell them what they should do, which isn't necessarily what I do. Yeah. Hadley is gaining great weight. She has no business waking up twice at night. And I have no business feeding her every time she wakes up. But I do. It puts both of us back to sleep. Its what I have to do right now. I tell myself every night when she starts screaming that Im just going to let her scream... but I don't. I don't want to wake Jackson up. His sleeping habits are bad enough right now. Last night he slept in the guest bed, until about 545. I'm pretty sure the garbage truck woke him up - because it woke me up too. (On a side note - why in the heck is the garbage truck running so early??) Anyway, of course I didn't fight with him to get back in his bed, I let him crawl in bed with me. Pick your battles. I must choose wisely, because there are a lot of battles going on in this house each day. Jackson is so smart. He knows how to play me and it drives me crazy! Stuart, where are you when we need you?!?!?!
When Stuart left, Hadley was just starting to eat solids. She wasn't a big fan of the high chair yet. Nowadays, she loves it! She loves to put everything she can in her mouth an grunts for more! She is always trying to get the food off of my plate too! Ive only found a few things that she doesn't care for - and yogurt melts are one of those. Check out these hilarious pictures.
She is turning into quite the cutie! I feel like she's getting so big and heavy! Its crazy that she can just entertain herself sometimes. I say sometimes because she's a bit needy. She wants all of the attention. Its so hard to get mad at her too, even when all I do is follow behind with a rag to clean up all of her spit up. Yes, notice the two different bibs in these pictures taken just minutes apart.
Jackson has really gotten into firetrucks lately. He asks almost daily to go to the fire station. Today, we went! It was awesome. Of course, I left my phone/camera in the car. Oh well! I arranged for them to come to his birthday party. They happily obliged (as long as there's no fire or accident). I chose the date, they chose the time, lets pray it all works out!!! He got a coloring book, a new fire hat, and got to sit in two different fire trucks and the hazmat truck. They were all so welcoming and told us to come back any day! Here's J sporting the new hat. He even wore it in Kroger, ha.
I got so tired of chasing her around earlier that I pulled out the pack n play. Jackson seems to like it better than she does. She hates being trapped! It certainly didn't last long. Oh well. They are so silly. So glad they can have fun together.
Stuart still isn't sleeping very well. I guess thats what happens when you flip to a night schedule. There were some people moving out of his building today that kept him up. Last I heard from him, he was taking a nap! Lets all pray that he gets a good nights sleep tonight! We could all use a good nights sleep around here!
Its back to work tomorrow...
