Day 101

You didn't know when you married this wonderful man that you and your family would be a part of his sacrifice, as well. You didn't know this military life would be so painful, so joyful, so difficult - and yet so meaningful.
- Lisa Black, Air Force Spouse

Stuart arrived safely in Germany. His patient is stable. He let me know they would be quick turned and had about 2 hours before they needed to be back to the plane. He grabbed a quick bite to eat and said he'd talk to me tonight when he arrived back in Bagram. Fast forward a few hours, and a whole lot of text messages in a row later- surprise (or not!) - he was bumped from the plane and staying in Germany. His return flight is tbd. Apparently, travel outside of a 60km radius from base is not allowed these days without prior approval. Something tells me he will be able to pull some strings and take another European vacation. I'm trying really hard to be happy for him.

We made it to church. Today was part 2 in the Marriage series. It makes me miss him even more, especially when todays talk focused mainly on sex. Even the pastor said it, we should not be embarrassed to talk about it.   So there it is folks. I miss my husband. I'd give anything in this world just to be in his arms again.

It snowed again, go figure. This time it was just a dusting. Enough to make the main roads slushy and enough stuck on my driveway for me to not make it back up, even when I totally gunned it. Im surprised I didn't back over the mailbox in my endeavor. lol. Jackson and I had to shovel and salt - again.

In other news, I have decided to attend opening day of the Reds. I could care less about the actual game, or that its opening day lol, but its an event for me to look forward to. Something to help pass the time. Its March 31st, my friend Lizs birthday. Its also special to her because it marks the halfway point in her husbands 9 month deployment to Kuwait. The tickets are totally overpriced but the kids can get in free (if I can't find a babysitter). Woo hoo.

Here are the kiddos today:
