Day 100

Wow. 100 days. That's a lot. Just think of all the tantrums, sleepless nights and dirty diapers Stu has missed....

All jokes aside, Stu is preparing for his next mission. His patient is a 22 year old who suffered a blast attack and is lucky to be alive.  He had a massive blood loss and received over 40 units of products and sustained a pelvic fracture, bladder rupture, and bilateral below the knee amputations. He is currently intubated and pretty darn sick.  There was word of potentially 2 more intubated patients arriving in Bagram, so if this is the case, another team may be joining Stuarts en route to Germany.  Stu certainly is capable of handling 3 critically ill patients, but the Air Force seems to think otherwise.  I get it. They must prepare for the worst, and sometimes critical patients need 1:1 nursing. So, time will tell. He thinks that they won't be in Germany long - but I know that he will get "stuck" and go on another European vacation.

One of the books Jess sent. Not so sure I could "love" this life... but I'm trying.

Here are some quotes I have found so far:

Ask not what your country can do for you.
Ask what you can do for your country.
-JFK

Gold is good in its place, but living, brave,
patriotic men are better than gold.
-Abraham Lincoln

People sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because
rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf.
-Unknown

So thankful for Stuarts sacrifice.

Back on the home front...
they are a mess.

cranky pants found comfort in Js lovie

Being goofy and demanding I take a picture of his foot

Spaghetti is MESSY!

Please continue to pray for Stuarts safety and for our family.
