Day 92

Hadley Anne is 8 months old! I can't believe it! She is growing so fast! We got to hang out this morning before I had to work.

She follows him everywhere, even to time out!

My favorite pic

They are too cute!

I got to see 2 newborn babies in the hospital today. So sweet. One was even named Jackson and he has a sister named Hadlee (spelled different, but how crazy is that?!)  Then I was videoed while examining the newest baby, at just 2 hours old! Work flew by and then we went next door for dinner! Always fun times at the Melvins, who by the way, have taken their house off the market for awhile =)

When we came home Hadley found a new place to play. Ha.

Got the kids to bed a little late.... so maybe everyone will sleep in! Wouldn't that be nice?!

Day 91

We lead a pretty boring life. I didn't get very many pictures tonight. It was a busy day at work and I'm exhausted. I promise to start doing better...

Stay in your PJ kinda day

Being silly...

In Bagram.... Stu did more of the same today. He has trauma conference on Thursdays and this is apparently a building that he walked past on the way.

I realize my blog is starting to suck.  But in all honesty - this deployment sucks... so there you have it.

Day 90

They make me laugh. When I'm exhausted and dealing with crap, they make me laugh. Love them!

Look at this CRAZY hair!

Day 89

Today has been an emotional roller coaster.

I am just going to share this song with you (and of course photos). This was one of the songs from the funeral but also one that we recently sang at church. There are a lot more of the chorus that I left out... but you get the drift.

Bless the Lord, O my soul
O my soul
Worship His holy name
Sing like never before
O my soul
I'll worship Your holy name

The sun comes up, it's a new day dawning
It's time to sing Your song again
Whatever may pass, and whatever lies before me
Let me be singing when the evening comes

You're rich in love, and You're slow to anger
Your name is great, and Your heart is kind
For all Your goodness I will keep on singing
Ten thousand reasons for my heart to find

And on that day when my strength is failing
The end draws near and my time has come
Still my soul will sing Your praise unending
Ten thousand years and then forevermore

Bless the Lord, O my soul
O my soul
Worship His holy name
Sing like never before
O my soul
I'll worship Your holy name

Day 88

We had another lazy day. I really wanted to take the kids "somewhere special" as Jackson calls it (i.e. Childrens Museum or the Aquarium)- but  with them already being super snotty didn't want to risk getting even sicker. So instead, we settled on Chick Fil A. Hopefully J man didn't pick up anything else in the playground!

I got the sweetest card in the mail from my dear friend, Mary. I just have to share. She is so thoughtful.  Very much looking forward to her visit in a few weeks!

Tomorrow, I'm heading to Louisville. Super excited to see all of my Kosair family but so sad that it has to be at a funeral. Dr. Lewis was an amazing physician. He always went above and beyond and was often found floating around the ED (still working!) 2 or 3 hours after his shift was over.  No matter what trauma or disaster came through the back door, he was always smiling and always willing to teach. I was truly honored to work with him once I became an ED clinician. He hated computers and was planning on retiring to Destin just in time for our transition to EPIC. I will never forget that slow morning in the ED when he was asking us if we had heard of phantosmia. He always had some random fact to share so at first I didn't think anything of it. When he went on to say that he had been having these phantom smells and headaches I quickly became worried. His physician was out of town and couldn't see him until the next week. One of the nurse practitioners pulled a bunch of strings and got him to the MRI within hours. He didn't come back to work. I felt sick. He fought hard for over a year but I know that he is in a better place now- his happy retirement up above.

While I sure do complain a lot, I'm trying to cherish each moment.  Counting down the days until Stu can be here with us again! Speaking of Stu, he sent no pictures today. He spent the better part of the day napping on the couch. Lol.

XO to you all.

Day 87

We made it to church this morning, barely. Poor H has been so miserable lately and is still off schedule.  Sweet girl is having major trouble sleeping and her nap was, well - a hot mess. I think she maybe managed to sleep about 30 minutes between the coughing and awakenings, so we were really pushing it by attempting the nursery. She fell asleep in the car on the way there, but managed to wake up on the walk in (probably because I have no business lugging her almost 18lb self around in that thing!).  Somehow, she made it through the service! Praise God! I may not ever get any me time anymore, but I will gladly accept that hour with the Lord instead.

We didn't do too much for the rest of the day. We had family nap time this afternoon! Unfortunately that consisted of Hadley crying/waking about every 15 minutes, so mamas nap wasn't so hot. Wish my sweet baby girl felt better! Those teeth still haven't popped through either!

Here's todays pictures.

Back in Bagram - Stuart completed his mission safely. His patient will be flying to Germany (with another team) tonight. Today he watched Catching Fire, without me =(

The American Flag Stuart bought to fly on his mission in honor of the Hebron Fire Department (for their awesome help with Jacksons party!)
