Settling In

If the past month wasn't crazy enough for us, we decided to make it a little more interesting over the past two weeks. After graduation, we packed up the gigantic moving truck (24 foot) with all of our junk to move out to Louisville. Much appreciated shout out to Joyce for all of his help in packing the truck and the story to come. With our house closing time pushed up to 2 PM on Monday we decided to leave on Sunday and go halfway just to make sure we made it on time. Well, Carey's reason was in case anything bad happened like flat tires, etc. Needless to say I think she jinxed us and as we walked out to leave Sun we saw a wonderful flat tire on the front right wheel. So its Sunday, early afternoon and we are trying to figure out a place to get it fixed. Going with Wally World (Walmart), we proceeded to have Joyce take us to get it fixed. When we arrived we were greated with excitement and wonderful customer service (joke...haha). The lady informs us that she is open until 6 PM (its only 5) and she can sell us a tire. However, they cant put it on because the Tire and Lube center doesnt have anyone that can put tires on! So frustrating! She would have failed our Foundations of Clinical Medicine Class that taught empathy. Through all that, we found a tire place still open and got on the road shortly after.

Closing was going smoothly the next day until we realized that Carey's middle name was Overton and not Compton! So she had to sign an extra fifty million papers to make it all legal but we got through it ok. We were able to move everything in that evening and start unpacking. It wasnt until we finally tried to fit our bed upstairs when we lost it! The door frame was too small and the stairs too steep and our dream of sleeping in the master suite was gone within 10 minutes. We spent the next couple of days unpacking as much as we could and arranging everything as best as possible but still werent settled in yet. Thursday came quickly and we headed back to Richmond, yes yet another road trip, for Alison's Wedding!

It was a wonderful weekend and we were able to spend time with our friends one last time before the final move. We will truly miss everyone from the Richmond area and cant wait to visit and see everyone over the next year. If anything, it gives a reason to travel more! We finally made it back to Louisville and have truly settled in now without much more unpacking to do. We love the home but are finding some of the joys associated with being a homeowner! Those stories to come in further editions! Much Love to everyone and know that we keep everyone in our hearts!
