Settling In

If the past month wasn't crazy enough for us, we decided to make it a little more interesting over the past two weeks. After graduation, we packed up the gigantic moving truck (24 foot) with all of our junk to move out to Louisville. Much appreciated shout out to Joyce for all of his help in packing the truck and the story to come. With our house closing time pushed up to 2 PM on Monday we decided to leave on Sunday and go halfway just to make sure we made it on time. Well, Carey's reason was in case anything bad happened like flat tires, etc. Needless to say I think she jinxed us and as we walked out to leave Sun we saw a wonderful flat tire on the front right wheel. So its Sunday, early afternoon and we are trying to figure out a place to get it fixed. Going with Wally World (Walmart), we proceeded to have Joyce take us to get it fixed. When we arrived we were greated with excitement and wonderful customer service (joke...haha). The lady informs us that she is open until 6 PM (its only 5) and she can sell us a tire. However, they cant put it on because the Tire and Lube center doesnt have anyone that can put tires on! So frustrating! She would have failed our Foundations of Clinical Medicine Class that taught empathy. Through all that, we found a tire place still open and got on the road shortly after.

Closing was going smoothly the next day until we realized that Carey's middle name was Overton and not Compton! So she had to sign an extra fifty million papers to make it all legal but we got through it ok. We were able to move everything in that evening and start unpacking. It wasnt until we finally tried to fit our bed upstairs when we lost it! The door frame was too small and the stairs too steep and our dream of sleeping in the master suite was gone within 10 minutes. We spent the next couple of days unpacking as much as we could and arranging everything as best as possible but still werent settled in yet. Thursday came quickly and we headed back to Richmond, yes yet another road trip, for Alison's Wedding!

It was a wonderful weekend and we were able to spend time with our friends one last time before the final move. We will truly miss everyone from the Richmond area and cant wait to visit and see everyone over the next year. If anything, it gives a reason to travel more! We finally made it back to Louisville and have truly settled in now without much more unpacking to do. We love the home but are finding some of the joys associated with being a homeowner! Those stories to come in further editions! Much Love to everyone and know that we keep everyone in our hearts!

Graduation and the Big Move

As the school year winds down, we have slowly been preparing for our last week in Richmond. Although it will be very bitter sweet to leave behind the life we have established here we are looking forward to the opportunities ahead as we move to Louisville. This week will be busy the entire time but there will be plenty of fun moments throughout it. Wed. night holds great promise as the annual comedy show that 4th year students put on will be shown at the Byrd Theater. Following that, the week continues with Graduation ceremonies and a party at the Jefferson Hotel on Friday. But the week doesnt end on Fri night. Sat everyone heads to Greene county for a nice BBQ get together for the afternoon. The fun truly begins on Sunday though. Packing up the moving truck and getting things all ready for the big move. Most of the apartment has been packed at this point but there are still minor things to take care of on Sunday. We will leave bright and early Monday morning to make it in time for closing that afternoon in Louisville. We will make sure to post pictures of the new home and fun stories once we have internet access. The new address will be 4103 Alton Rd, Louisville, KY 40207. We hope everyone enjoys their week as much as we will!

The First Days of Our Life Together

To take a page from Jessica's book, Carey and I have decided that we would start a blog as she and Fritz have done to stay in touch with family and friends. We are now officially married and had a wonderful time down in Mexico with the amazing group above! The entire week was a blast culminated with the wedding at the end. We could not have asked for a better day as the weather cooperated and was beautiful. By the end of the night, after all the paparazzi went home, we had our own private beach party. After everyone left we switched resorts for our honeymoon and had an amazing time at a gorgeous resort on the Riveria Maya.
Once we compile all the pictures we will post them to a website for all to see. Look for future blogs over the next weeks as we graduate and plan for the big move to Louisville! Thanks again to everyone who came to the wedding and much love and happiness to all!
