Day 127

You may have seen this posted on my Facebook wall - but just wanted to share again. So proud of Stuart. We wanted to thank the fire department for coming to Js party - so Stu flew a flag in their honor during one of his missions. He put it in this cool frame with a neat certificate. I'm thankful that it made the journey home. The firemen loved it! Its already hanging in the firehouse!

These are pictures from Stuarts mission today. He went to a new base. An Afghan had several gunshot wounds. The second picture is of his anesthesia record. 5 vitals in 3 hours, pretty pathetic LOL!

Back home.... we had a super busy day! We went to Chick Fil A for breakfast, the post office, Kroger to get gas, Hadleys 9 month check up, Michaels, Gigis to get cupcakes, and then the fire station to deliver our gift. I managed to discover the back route home and just in time for lunch and naps. It was so nice out that we spent the afternoon on a walk to the playground. Then we had dinner next door. Fun times. Cant wait for Spring =)

I think she was scared to have J as her dr

She had a great check up! No ear infection mom - I told you! She just loves to dig in her ears! 29 inches long (90%), 18lb 3 oz (35%) and 18in head circumference (95%). Us Bertschs have big heads!

Sweet Shades

Something is wrong with this picture. Short sleeves, sunglasses, SUN and snow lol!

Day 126

Another long work day. Decided I should reward myself with Mexican for dinner. J was bad and didn't eat. He wanted to play with the kid in the next booth. Hadley devoured chips, fries, and her bananas. Apparently that wasnt enough - and when we got home she found Js peanut butter crackers and ate those too. I about lost it. Ahhhhh. She is still breathing and seems to be ok.

We need Stu home.

Day 125

Stuart flew an intratheater mission today. He picked up an Afghan that had penetration injuries to both eyes after an IED blast. He will definitely lose one eye and hopefully still have some vision in the other.  That took the majority of Stus day, he had to leave his soccer game in the middle to go get the patient. His team ended up losing both games by a goal (I think). At least he made it to abs class. Ha, he's getting all fit and I'm getting all fat.

Our entire family got to face time tonight! This doesn't happen very often because H goes to bed early and things are usually pretty crazy around here.

These pictures of the kids at Nanas were taken yesterday.  Its so hard to get everyone to sit still and smile for a picture!

Better late than never, 9 month pics of H. She had a hard time sitting still this morning and was more interested in putting everything in her mouth.

Day 124

We made it home. The first hour of our trip was quite scary with snow and ice covered roads, but once we hit the interstate it was smooth sailing. 10 hours later we are all so glad to be home.

Haven't heard from Stu since noon - am worried - but trying not to be.  He disappeared mid convo again. So, heres your pictures - more tomorrow.

Day 123

Its March. Another snow day. That makes 5 straight months of this snowy mess and I'm sick of it. Its seriously been snowing since Stuart left. I think theres about 5 inches here in VA. I'm hoping that we can make it home without any trouble tomorrow...

In Bagram, Stuart won both of his soccer games 2-1. He scored 2 goals. Im still waiting for pictures.

Day 122

It took all of forever, but I loaded a few pics!
Jackson and the birthday girl, Aislyn

My BFFs Kat and Had

Me and H

Rylie and Jackson making breakfast. I think only 1 egg ended up on the floor

H and Roo

Fun at the park.

Cousin love

Such a good big brother!

Todays adventures included making breakfast, going to the park, McDonalds for lunch, and playing outside at nanas. All of this after a sleepless night. Man!  Not sure whats going on with H, but I lost count of how many times she got up last night. I think she was up for good around 5. A quick morning run to Wal Mart to purchase a new sound machine may have helped the sleeping situation a little. The iPad just wasnt cutting it... Can we say spoiled? lol.

I think it hit 65 today. So nice. We all got some Vitamin D =)  Too bad the snow followed me here and yet another winter storm is coming. Forecast keeps changing. I think the latest is 1/4 inch ice followed by 6-10 inches of snow. Here comes my favorite last words: Y'all say a prayer.

In Bagram: Stu is all set for soccer! Games start tomorrow and he will play them Mon, Wed and Fri. Something for him to look forward to! He doesn't think his team will be very good. He will struggle with this.  In more exciting news - they are starting to work on travel arrangements HOME!!! Yes... the end is in sight.... hallelujah! Still no date, but hopefully something soon!

Day 121

The internet is much slower here. Like super slow and it takes FOREVER to load pictures.  The pictures from my phone are still not on my iPhoto yet - so pictures may be a little limited during our visit.

Today we went to Charlottesville to celebrate Miss Aislyns 3rd birthday! So much fun! Afterwards, no nap Jack has had a ball playing with his cousin Rylie.

Back in Bagram: Stuart completed another mission and is home safely from Germany. He got to explore a little while he was there and unfortunately I won't be able to share those pictures now - but promise to post them soon.  He has a meeting today about an indoor soccer league there, how fun?!

Speaking of soccer, I signed J man up for spring indoor soccer. Should be interesting without Stu around.

We'll try and post some pictures tomorrow when I have more patience for them to load.
